Introduction Page

By the end of this webquest, you will be able to:

 

  1. Read and follow directions typical of those found on computer instructional websites

  2. Demonstrate an understanding of Fibonacci numbers;

  3. Describe how Fibonacci numbers are produced;

  4. Apply Fibonacci numbers to a geometric shape from nature;

  5. Find a wide variety of internet resources related to Fibonacci numbers, their applications in nature such as animal populations, shell shapes, and leaf distribution;

  6. Appreciate the beauty of the relationship between mathematical and natural objects.

 

First, assign each person in your group one of these roles: driver, navigator, recorder, and geometer.

 

  1. Driver - The driver is the person who actually sits at the computer and presses the keys.

  2. Navigator - The navigator decides where the driver should go.

  3. Recorder - The recorder fills in the data collection forms.

  4. Geometer - The geometer makes the necessary drawings.
