Birds of Galveston Bay

Galveston Bay is an important area for birds of all types. While many of us may only think of gulls and pelicans around the bay, several endangered or threatened species have been sighted in the bay area.

The habitat around Galveston Bay is important to the coastal bird's life. These birds need a place to forage, raise their young, and of course rest. The marshes that are nursing grounds for young marine life, provide a food source for many of the coastal birds.
