Braam Lab Project: Determine biochemical and physiological function of the calmodulin-related TCH2 protein. TCH2 is 44% identical to CaM. TCH2 mRNA and protein accumulated in response to external stimuli, ie touch. TCH2 is believed to play a calcium-dependent role in the signal pathway(s) that elicits plant respones/adaptation to environment. To answer the biochemical and physiological questions, molecular and morphological mutant analysis, and investigation of protein-protein interactions will be conducted under varying conditions/stimuli.
