My daughter and I played Bad Machine for awhile over the holidays.
Yes, it made sense, (though I have an ability to persist, do some
amateur IF programming, and she is a seat-of-the-pants hacker for a
large physics project, so we are not completely unfamiliar with some
of the concepts). I think it is a very intriguing game -- much
different than anything else I've played.
We did not come near to "solving" it, but we did manage to
survive dying so quickly after awhile. Sadly, she had to leave, and I
am back at full time teaching, so time is at a premium again. (Sigh,
and I play slowly.) I hope to play more of it in the future. We
weren't clear what our objective was, except probably to "fix"
ourselves? It also appeared to us that we might be manufacturing
something in that place?
