Bad Machine--more than 2 endings?

Hi all,

There are two parts to this post...my comments on the two endings of Bad
Machine I've seen (the one the enclosed hints get you to, and one involving
a hatch, to communicate which ones they are without spoiling people who
haven't seen them), and a question about reaching any more.

Here be spoilers.

Well, I *much* prefer "Outside it is very bright, and very quiet" to "And
later, Queen #002 flies skyward." For two reasons, really:

Artistically, the former is simply much more interesting and beautiful. The
parallel of the brief text and the quietness it describes, the dramatic
feeling of openness and tracklessness--the unsheltered, vast outside world
and the unsheltered, vast set of choices confronting Mover #005.

And I go for that ending even putting myself in Mover #005's shoes (in
another post, I claimed that usually the PC's best interests was not what we
found satisfying in an ending, but here it seems to make a difference,
simply because the Mover is such a sympathetic hero). Better to serve (or
wander aimlessly) in heaven than to rule in hell.

*Did* anyone else get the impression (as I did) that even a Queen is a Good
Machine? That in the end (although part of the queen's duty is to decide
on the right form for Product to take) the queen is just as much a servant
to Product (in the abstract) as any of the lesser machines?

"MOVER #005 HAS EXHIBITED PROMISING BEHAVIOR." Reasoning, problem solving,
strategy and tactics. Maybe even vastly superior to those of a Thinker.
All promising. And *maybe* the Queen #001 was looking at Mover #005's free
will too...in which case I'm just wrong. But I suspect not. I suspect that
before retrofitting for queendom, Mover #005 was still taken for one final
visit to the Fixer. Why? Because even a queen is really just a servant, to
The Warehouse, and to Product, and servants shouldn't be *too* uppity.

Thoughts on this?

And: Suggestions on finding a third ending? I assume I'm supposed to do
something in the power core. Any hints on what would be much appreciated.

Thanks,
Avrom
