Now I might have sent this in to Pseud's Corner in Private Eye, but then I realised that 
Graham was being serious.

(apologies to non-UK readers who probably don't know what I'm talking about. Of 
course, I could now spend several lines explaining the reference but there wouldn't be 
much point as over-analysing a weak joke just makes the whole thing even more 
embarrassing to both the writer and the reader.  So I don't think I'll bother.  In fact, just 
forget you ever read this post.)
