[cd] game list

Only a few hours late, here it is. Seventeen games, not counting
"Freefall" and "Modernism" and whatever we come up with as an example /
transcript game.

Footnotes first.

[1] I have not listed any of the '95 competition games. The top six are
already being published, for one thing. This is slightly rude to the other
six, but, well, they didn't win. :) The '96 games are really a bit too far
off; I want to keep this project moving. If we ever go to a sequel, we can
include all the '95 and '96 entries.

[2] Scott Adams' post said that his new game (new version, whatever)
would be ready "by year's end." Again, that's over our horizon. I will
email him and at least mention the project.

[3] Like I said, all TADS and Inform games. I make that decision in the
belief that we couldn't add more than a couple games of this caliber for
each additional runtime system; and each runtime system is a new pain in
the butt.

[4] I list all the ex-shareware Unnkulian games. We would have to get the
new, freeware versions of those. Hey, Dave! Do you know when that will
be?

[5] Similarly, I include "Hero, Inc", even though the only extant version
is a beta-test version. (I think it's a very nice game which is short. We
have plenty of leviathans, but not so many short works.) I'll bug the
author. Well, obviously I'm going to be bugging *all* of the authors
later tonight. Mmm, form letters.

[6] Adventure (Colossal Cave) is in there. I don't see how we can leave
it out. Since we're aiming at non-Net-connected players, a lot of them
*don't* have a copy, right? They'll get a kick out of it. I say use the
Inform port, mostly because there are more TADS games listed than Inform
games.

[7] Someone tell me the length of difficulty of UU0. I've only ever played
the demo.
