Great Games!!!
I recently have gotten back into interactive fiction and managed
(mostly by luck) to stumble across the I-F archive at ftp.gmd.de.
I, like the majority of us, was a die-hard zorker in the early days
of home computers. Imagine my joy at finding such a plethora of NEW
(to me) text adventures to play! Needless to say I have become quite
addicted _again_ and thought since I rarely see anyone posting to
this group about games other that the early commercial games I would
point out some of the very impressive new games out there to be had
for free or in some cases a modest shareware fee.
Here's some of my favorites. These games are written in Inform
and need an interpreter to play. You can get FROTZ a wonderful
interpreter for just about any operating system from
ftp://ftp.gmd.de/if-archive/infocom/interpreters/frotz

An Interactive Fantasy Adventure

Can be downloaded at:

This game is a must have for all zork fans!
I am not going to bore you with a review, I will just say
I loved returning to the Zork(ish) domains.
TIME
"All things come to an end"
An original piece of Interactive Fiction

Can be downloaded at:

An absolutely huge though sometimes frustrating time travel
adventure. You can easily lock yourself out of a win situation.
This game is great although very tricky in spots. You can get a
walkthrough from
ftp://ftp.gmd.de/if-archive/solutions/time.sol
Its worth playing but keep the walkthrough handy.
I won't take up more space with this post, but I will be posting
more (in my opinion) good games as I find them. The games I have
mentioned here as well as the several others I have played recently
have inspired me to write my own game. I estimate it will be about
30-60 days before mine is ready for playing.
Thanks for your time and check the archive!!!
