I am an assistant professor in the Department of Biochemistry and Cell Biology at Rice University. I am also a member of the Institute of Biosciences and Bioengineering at Rice.

This is my personal web page. Click here for my lab information.

Join my Group

Undergraduate Students: Please email me if you are interested in doing research in my lab for credit (Bioc 310), as a paid summer intern, or as a volunteer. I look for students who have genuine interests in bio research, good grades, and good work ethics. I prefer students who are interested in doing research for multiple semesters.

Graduate Students: In my department, individual PIs do not recruit students directly. If you are interested in the Ph.D. program here, please apply at the departmental website. After you are admitted, you will do three rotations in different labs. You are welcome to choose my group as one of your rotation labs. If my lab turns out to be a good fit for you after your rotation, then I will be happy to be your PhD advisor.

Postdocs: Please email me if you are interested. I look for postdocs who share the same research interests. I prefer candidates who are fresh PhDs, have experience with model organisms, or have computational background.
